"Volunteerism Alive and Well In Fort Erie "

Over the past few months I have been out and about Fort Erie going to events and enjoying the company of local people that spend their time helping support important local programs.
The spirit of volunteerism is alive and well in this community and we should all be grateful for it. One of the biggest selling points that Fort Erie has is the compassion and dedication of it's citizens to give back and the importance of their contribution is significant.
It is the volunteers that make Festivals through out Fort Erie successful. It is the volunteers that are the core of youth sports ,cadet groups ,and after school programs. It is the volunteers that give up their time to support groups like COPE and Meals on Wheels , Adult Literacy and Earth Day Events and so many other vital community programs important to all of us. I have only scratched the surface of groups throughout Greater Fort Erie that use and need volunteers but it goes without saying one can only be impressed that our community continues to stand up and be counted when it comes to giving back and helping out. It is this spirit that uplifts me everyday and is one of the many reasons I am proud to be from Fort Erie.
